Semester 2 2016 | RMIT University
This studio introduced students to robotic fabrication and its application in product design. Roboto, provided students with two different fabrication techniques, which they applied to a product design process through the creation of a series of artefacts.
These techniques are: Robotic 3D Printing, & Robotic Foam Cutting.
The robots were programmed through Rhino & Grasshopper, and Fusion 360 was utilised as the main CAD modelling tool. Advanced tools such as Maya, Inventor, Alias & Algorithmic Modelling (grasshopper/scripting) were used for more advanced form development.
The robots are: UR10, Kuka KR-150 and KR-Agilus.
